A Course in Weight Loss Day 19 Lesson 12

Today’s video starts with a little comic relief… Lizabeth at her best.

What does commitment mean to you? We discuss what it means to us and why we find it easier to commit to other people easier and better than we do to ourselves.

We talk a lot today about journaling today. I have been journaling for over 20 years. Lizabeth doesn’t have a regular practice of journaling yet.

I talk about why I journal, where I journal, and how it helps. Journaling helps me to sort out my thoughts and feelings. It’s helped me get through a lot of good and bad times over the years. It’s my meeting with God, my Higher Self, each and every morning.

The most important part of journaling is just showing up. Give yourself the time to ‘be’ there in the moment. God will take care of the rest.

I made a flimsy commitment to myself today to start the 10-day program. I got to noon and stopped at Rally’s and got a 2 fish sandwiches 2 for $5 and an order of fries. I threw the second fish sandwich away. Had a great dinner of healthy food, however I ate 2 slices of raisin bread while waiting for my baked chicken to cook. I am hanging in there with myself and I know each day is better than the day before and perhaps this is a side reaction to my frustration over the class. I just want some peace about this and I don’t want to wait two more weeks for peace when the class is over.

Just venting here and making an effort to love myself through this process and know every day in every way I am getting better and better. I think the commitment to me department needs some more work. I will go high and low for someone else, but not myself. Obviously, this is an area I need to work on. I will give it another go tomorrow and see if I can keep my commitment to myself.

    • Baby steps. It sounds like maybe you have spotted that you might be eating as a reaction to the frustration over the class. I still eat from emotion but not as much as I did yesterday and I have made wonderful steps since before the 10 Day Challenge. I challenge you to ask yourself, “What am I afraid to look at?”, the next time you notice emotional eating. See where it takes you. Most of the time I was able to stop and make a new decision about the food I was eating. It doesn’t mean that I conquered it but I made a conscious decision to put it down or finish it. It has helped.

You are getting better and better. I see you loving yourself through this process and acknowledging the action of Spirit in your thinking. Love to you.

Thank you for your kind words. I do feel frustration over the lack of symmetry in conquering this class, but I will prevail. today (3/8) I brought a banana, yogurt, baked chicken and veggies to eat since its spring break for the regular college, but not for the non-traditional students and the café is closed for a week. I made better choices this morning as I was packing getting ready to leave. I feel better. Thank you God. Gotta get back to studying.

Love you and Cindy and I can’t tell you what a difference you’ve made in my thought process. Yeah us!!
