There’s NO Shame in Starting Over!

shootagainWhen we as a group start something new there’s usually a pattern. There’s a LOT of enthusiasm in the beginning. We get all hyped up and excited about starting something new and working together as a whole. And as that excitement wears off, and life gets in the way, the group sort of dwindles. We lose focus.

The spinning top starts off at full speed and slowly slows down to a wobble and then stops. Unless… Something comes along and gives it another twist. A boost. Another burst of energy.

For those of you who are participating in our Feeding Friend-zys, I want to give you that little boost of energy. I want to remind you why you are doing this because I suspect that some of you are wobbling.

When you signed up for this, you had intentions of improving your life. You wanted to increase your prosperity consciousness or your bliss level or some part of your life. You still want those same things, but you’ve probably gotten tired. You’ve let the day-to-day grind of your job, your regular life, and your daily tasks help you forget your initial excitement and determination. It’s just easier to let it go.

But this is where the rubber meets the road. This is where the extraordinary get sorted from the ordinary. And I KNOW that ALL of you are extraordinary. This is where the real difference is made. Here in the spot where your once-spinning-top starts to wobble.

You miss one day and the next day is a little easier to miss. You miss two days and day three is almost guaranteed. If you don’t start back by day three, you can almost hang it up. It’s probably not going to happen. Dare to be different this time. Start over anyway.

Many of us are embarrassed to start over. We think others will think less of us. We somehow think that by laying low and not pointing out that we failed, others will not notice. Just the opposite is really true. Others are impressed by our determination and courage. Others see us as stronger and braver. They also see the changes that are occurring in our lives that we sometimes overlook. They see a different, better me than I see.

This is a practice which means we will not be perfect at it yet. If we were, we wouldn’t need the practice. Practice means we don’t always get it right. But, we learn from our mistakes. Or should. ‘Failures’ become successes when we learn something from them.

Don’t see your missing a day as a failure. See it as a success. See it as another exciting opportunity for you to start over and do it better this time around. See it as a courageous effort in your daily practice of your new lifestyle.

The real key is to NEVER give up. NEVER get too comfortable. NEVER, EVER let the mundane tasks of your life take over. YOU are in charge of your life. If your life isn’t exciting and fun then you’re doing it wrong. If you aren’t happy, then make different choices. Don’t waste your life doing things you don’t like to do! Change your life one day at a time. That takes practice. Decide what you want and go for it! A change in your consciousness is needed to succeed. You change your consciousness one day at a time through practice. If you miss a day, just start over.

When you learn to ride a bike, you don’t quit the first time you fall over. You keep starting over again. And again. And again. If you ever give up you will never learn to ride the bike. Don’t give up on your prosperity consciousness practice either. Hang in there. Start over. Again. And again.

If you do that you will eventually succeed. Guaranteed. It’s a habit. Habits are only formed when you stick to the task on a daily basis. You have to stay focused for a period of time… Usually about 40 days. The energy carries forward until there is a break in the action. That’s why it’s so important to just start over. Starting over can be powerful. Don’t be ashamed. It’s a new day. It’s a new opportunity. It’s a practice. Starting over is a GOOD thing. There is no shame in starting over.
