Enjoying Our Time Freedom

workWe try to list the things we are grateful for each morning. We don’t always remember to do that, but we are making a commitment to doing that every day. This morning as I thought about the things I am most grateful for, one of those is our time freedom.

I am SO thankful that we were both able to be here at home while my Mom was sick and needed 24/7 care. I am thankful that we could be here with her AND keep our business going. I’m thankful that when she was still at her home in Tennessee, we could take our business there. I’m also thankful that when we head out on our road trip next week, we can take our business along. I love being able to work from any where and at any time. I love the flexibility my ‘job’ allows.

If you can even call it a ‘job’. It’s more like play to me. I believe one of the ways we live a prosperous life is to love the ‘work’ we do so much so that it’s more like play. I would do this stuff even if I didn’t get paid for it. I love programming. I love building web tools and making things work online. I love computers and the internet and how it allows us to do so many things from most anywhere. I love that I can now make my phone a hotspot so that I can work from just about anywhere I want, whenever I want. I love technology.

The wonderful thing is that most any passion you have can become an online adventure. Most any passion can be tapped into from anywhere at anytime, just like my programming business, with the use of technology. We have the world at our fingertips with our smart phones, tablets and laptops. Most people can now take their work on the road in some fashion. It just takes a few creative solutions.

I realize that not everyone wants to have the mobile lifestyle that I have. But, I also realize that there are a lot of people out there complaining about having to get up and go to work or to school or to some place that ties them to that place at that specific time.

The truth is that it doesn’t have to be that way. You DO have a choice. You get to design your life any way you want it, but it may take some creative solutions to get the life of your dreams. You may have to do some things you’ve never done before and step out of your comfort zone. You may have to depend on God a little more to get to where you want to be. You may have to take some leaps of faith. It could make your life quite a bit more exciting. Sometimes those leaps get the adrenaline flowing and your blood to pumping. Isn’t that what makes life more fun?

What’s your passion? Are you pursuing it on a regular basis? Is your life fun and exciting? Do you get out of your comfort zone occasionally? 1. …or you may have to leave a 21 year marriage. Yeah, that whole comfort zone thing is real. Talk about an ABSOLUTE leap of faith. I don’t recommend moving to an apt, getting divorced, leaving an 18 year job, moving to a new town, buying a home and opening a business all within a year. Nope, I don’t recommend it at all ~ but I am Happy, Happy, Happy ~ and for all of that to have fallen into place so relatively peacefully is definitely a God Thing!!!

    • Pam,

I’m SO glad to hear how Happy you are! You did all that in one year with such grace! You are my hero and a true ROCK STAR!
