One of the Best Birthdays Ever!

Last Thursday (May 18) was my birthday! Lizabeth was determined to make it the best one yet. It was a very good day. She said I could do anything I wanted (within reason) and she would join me. My first decision was to get up at the crack of dawn, or as our kids used […]

How to Keep a Level Head While You Work in an RV

One of the very first things we did after moving into our RV was to replace the dining table and chairs with my desk and office chair so that I could work while on the road. There was always a lean to the left since the desk and chair were located in the slide out […]

The Power of Our Dreams

It’s hard to believe that we bought our Truck (Bruce) and RV (OPaL) a year ago. Seems like yesterday. Manifesting Our Dream I remember lying in bed the day we brought OPL home. We were so excited we couldn’t sleep. And then it hit me! Our setup was on our vision board! Even though all […]

Eating Out on Our Weight Release Plan

We tend to go exploring a lot while we travel. So, while on the weight release plan, eating out has been a little more difficult. We are managing very well though. What We Look for in a Restaurant We look for steak houses, seafood restaurants or chains that we know have something we can eat. […]

“I’m Just Being Nice Today”

Living on the road is the best decision I have made. It does have it’s downsides though. An ongoing dilemma: Buying a roll of quarters to do laundry. You wouldn’t think this would be hard, would you? This should be a “no brainer”…right? I am learning that this is a real challenge in today’s world! […]

Downsizing – Moving Into an RV

We knew that moving into an RV would require us to get rid of a lot of things. In theory, this sounds easy. As a matter of fact, I was sort of looking forward to it. The clutter that I had created was wearing me out. I knew this, but I thought cleaning all that […]

Buying a Travel Trailer

Our decision to buy a travel trailer as opposed to a Fifth wheel or a Class A or C motorhome was the best decision for us. I explained how and why we chose our truck, Bruce, in this article. Today, I want to explain why and how we chose our travel trailer, Opal. Why We […]

How We Chose Our Truck, Bruce

After our first unsuccessful shopping trip, we decided that we should probably choose a used truck instead of a new one. They are NOT cheap – at least not like we needed. We learned that a V6 engine with Ecoboost pulls more than a V8 engine. We also learned about GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) and GCWR (Gross Combination Weight Rating). We learned way more than I ever really wanted to know about trucks and decided we wanted a V6 with Ecoboost, 2 wheel drive, 3.5L, 3.55 axle ratio, SuperCrew cab with a short bed. Before this shopping expedition, I couldn’t have told you what any of that meant except for maybe the short bed and 2 wheel drive.

R V Crazy?

We ask each other this question a lot: Are we crazy? Do we really want to LIVE in an RV full time? Our answer always comes back ‘YES!’ Other people probably think we are crazy. We don’t care. Others may call us ‘homeless’. We don’t care. Living full time in an RV has been our […]

Watching The Flash Flood Of Prosperity

According to the National Weather Service, a flash flood is defined as, “a flood caused by heavy or excessive rainfall in a short period of time, generally less than 6 hours. Flash floods are usually characterized by raging torrents after heavy rains that rip through river beds, urban streets, or mountain canyons sweeping everything before […]
